First World War

The most outstanding international development in the period preceding First World War was the formation of the great alliances:
The triple alliances.
The triple entente.
They divided Europe into two hostile camped and paved the way outbreak of the terrible calamity of 1914.
REASONS:
The reasons for the outbreak of World War I are a complicated issue; there are many factors which intertwine. Some examples are:
Fervent and uncompromising nationalism
Unresolved previous disputes

The intricate system of alliances
Convoluted and fragmented governance

Delays and misunderstandings in diplomatic communications
The arms races of the previous decades.
Rigidity in military planning

l  As described in the Treaty of Versailles and Treaty of Trianon, that Germany and its allies were solely responsible for the war. The official version was a hypothesis based on the idea that the war had begun when the Austro-Hungarian Empire invaded the Kingdom of Serbia, backed by German Empire, and that Germany later invaded Belgium and Luxembourg without provocation. The hypothesis is that responsibility for the war lies with Germany and Austro-Hungary for their aggression, and that Russia, France and Britain were reacting legitimately against this aggression.
